I am trying to gather some data of a James Preston Campbell and his wife Elizabeth M. (Blume ?) Campbell. The 1920 census of Massachusetts has them living in Arlington Town and having four children...Jessie E...Fred B...James P...Charles W.

I cannot seem to find this family before 1920.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

My library has a subscription, so I was able to get James and family for 1910, 1900 and 1880. Apparently most of the 1890 census records were destroyed in a fire in 1921.

I'm a little uncertain of the 1880 one as the age is a skosh off, but the location fits and I noticed the name Walter recurring there and in a later one, which suggests either his brother lived with him as an adult or James named a son after his younger brother. I didn't really read closely enough to sort it out, but you probably have more information anyway.

Good luck with your further hunting!
